Adolescent boys and girls from Mazoka DC are in training on how to make artificial pads through local available materials

RAFIKI-SDO is implementing Ending Child Early and Forced Marriage (ECEFM) project in Rukwa region, it is five years project started from 2020 to 2024. This project funded by Norad. It implemented by Rafiki-SDO in partnership with RUSUDEO, PDF, YES TZ, CHALA FDC and PLAN International as a leading partner. The project is implemented regional wise in three districts of Rukwa region which are: Kalambo District Council, Nkasi District Council and Sumbawanga District Council.

The project has four objectives which will be implemented as the efforts to end child early and forced marriage those are:

1. Keeping girls in school through improving menstrual hygiene and parents and teacher’s partnership. 2. Improving girls SRH through community health workers. 3. Improving the economy of girl and her family through Village Saving and Loan Association 4. Improving child protection through village committees (MTAKUA) Through the above project expects to have adolescent girls aged 10 to 24 who are aware of themselves and have ability to avoid and resist early and forced marriage to attain their dreams.
